Hello friends! I’m sure by now you’ve heard the great news, but I wanted to share a little vlog with you from our time in St. Louis. I flew out and met my parents, aunt and uncle, cousins, and Kayla’s family to cheer on Jake as he competed for a spot on the Olympic team. Truthfully, I wasn’t nervous. Not one bit and that was all because of how calm and confident Jake seemed. I don’t know if he was nervous or not, but he sure seemed ready and I think it definitely showed (that floor routine!!!) I couldn’t have been more proud of the man and gymnast he has become. I know it’s not easy and I know he sacrifices a lot, but what an experience and opportunity. It’s not his first Olympics, but his second. SECOND! I’m amazed at the amount of dedication he has. It’s such a beautiful thing to watch him achieve the dreams he’s worked so hard for. And if you ask Zach, I bawled haha but that’s not true. I did cry a lot of happy tears, but it’s only because I knew just how much he wanted this. I’m so happy for him!!
St. Louis had an electric crowd, an intense competition, and will be forever engraved in my mind just like San Jose is. Thank you to everyone who’s sent such sweet messages. Your love and support mean so much to us and we appreciate all of it. We can’t wait to cheer him on in Rio!
